Ensuring Quality at Every Level
We take steps to ensure the best quality plants and services are available to our customers. Our environmental credentials
and plant health are of the utmost importance. As more and more threats to our natural biodiversity become apparent –
we need to keep abreast of our role in safeguarding our environment.
Plant Healthy Certified
In 2021, Nicholsons became one of the first nurseries in the country to be
accredited by ‘Grown in Britain’ under their new Plant Healthy Certification
initiative. The scheme aims to safeguard the horticultural industry and
the wider environment from real and potential biosecurity risks posed by
pests and diseases, which threaten our country’s borders, ecosystem and
economy.
The process involved a thorough evaluation of all aspects of our business to the standards outlined by ‘Grown in
Britain’, from purchase, delivery, quality control, through to management, protection and waste disposal. The certification is
voluntary, but we felt it was an important move towards ensuring our plants are the best possible investment for our
customers and the environment.
